My name is Jennifer Tufts, and this is my Pure Romance Story.
Probably like some of you reading this, I always knew that I wanted to work for myself, but I never knew exactly what I wanted to do. So, fresh out of high school, I decided to join the Air Force and was a maintenance technician for 8 years. I loved the military life and traveling the world. I was stationed in Texas, Utah, Okinawa and New Mexico. But when my contract was cut short, my world was flipped upside down. Both my practice husband and I had to uproot everything and move back home. I was unemployed for 3 months before finding a job with Yamaha as their facilities maintainer.
As soon as we had thought things were getting back to normal, I received a letter from the Air Force saying that they overpaid me $19,000 and wanting it back, and no, that is not a typo! As you can imagine, we were overwhelmed. I decided to file Chapter 13 Bankruptcy. But then my world came crashing down again, I had lost my job at Yamaha making $20 an hour. The bankruptcy went away and the bill collectors came back. My car was even repossessed. My practice husband and I had to file again as a couple, we lost our house, and had to move back in with my parents at 29 years old.
But then I had a blessing in disguise. I was invited to a Pure Romance party by an old High School friend that I haven’t seen in 8 years. I had so much fun and needed the laughs in those dark times. I didn’t buy a thing at the first party. I was invited to the next about a month later and came with a very strict budget that I have scrimped for my practice husband’s birthday. I was offered the Pure Romance Opportunity 3 times, and the first 2 times I said, “No, I had just lost my job and we are struggling,” even though I wanted to take that leap of faith. It took my best friend seeing my potential and talking to my practice husband. He then took a small loan out of his 401K to get me started. A decision that I’ve never regretted.

I am now debt free, I feel a lot more confident and couldn’t be happier with how my life is going now. For the first time in my life, I feel passionate with the “job” that I have. I feel such an immense amount of job satisfaction with helping women both in their relationship and achieving financial freedom!
